So I haven’t done a recipe lately!

I am a little bit “all over the map” when it comes to my fave people to get recipes from…

From Nigella who will clog your arteries in a second but make your mouth water, to Gordon who will damn well teach you to cook or scare you to death “You Donkey!”  From Martha who will teach you to be pretty much perfect to Bethenny who will help you find your skinny girl and drop the F-bomb 12 times while searching….  I am a mixture of pop-icon chefs….

This one is called Boyfriend Roast Chicken and you will find it on Bethennys Website.  It has a total of 10 ingredients that you can get from any grocery store. 

It makes four servings and maybe an hour.  Bethenny is a Natural Food Chef so all ingredients you will find in her recipes are natural and most are fresh.  She cooks these meals for herself and her now husband Jason.  So it isn’t that she preps these for her website only.  She really eats them too.

This one is called Warm Quinoa, spinach and Shitaki Salad and you can find it on Marthas Website

It has a total of 7 ingredients and takes approximately 30 mins to make again this is all stuff you can find at your local grocery store and is sure to please anyone you serve it to.  Martha’s website has a number of GREAT salad recipes and my fave category was “Dinner’s in front of the TV”.  This consisted of some open-faced sandwiches and Soup in a cup with toasted soldiers (ahhh takes me back to when I was little).

She even has a budget friendly section.

 

This one is from Nigellas site I know I could have found something more nutritious however considering this is Nigella I think this is quite tame.   The other one I saw was Toblerone Chocolate Mousse.  AHHH!  She is a girl after  my own heart.  I once saw her melt chochy buttons into hot chocolate…. 

I digress.  She has all sorts of recipes on her site but she is particularly good for eeeeoooy gooooey desserts. 

She’s pretty good at whipping something up quickly after a long day of work too.

A lot of  Gordon’s recipes are too “upscale” for me to tell you the truth I like the man

more than anything else…  although I have found podcasts of him making Cheese on toast which just makes me love him even more. 

But this chunky chips recipe is to die for…  6 ingredients two of which are onion and garlic…  Mmm!  15 minutes and Viola!

On their own…  Toned down with a burger…  Or with a roast…

Hope you enjoyed this little walk through my fave chefs…  It’s kinda funny coming from someone who doesn’t cook at all….  Who doesn’t even like cooking!  But really wishes she did and could.

OKey Dokey, it’s midseason and just happens to be a Tuesday!

That means a blog about what what…?  Ahhh!  Yes, my VERY favorite thing…  After Brody and James and the colour orange and…

Oh ya!  TV….

So all the mid-season shows are coming on starting with Pretty Little Liars on January 3rd…  Well I watched it and even James watched it.  Over top of my iPhone and between beating the iPhone Cribbage application 56 games out of 59…  It was great.  suspenseful, lots of foreshadowing many red herrings I am sure.  Lots of “oh it’s her…”  and “No it’s gotta be him…”  Only a couple of minutes later to be followed by “Welllll it could be that one….”  Anyway it has Lara Leighton in it as well as Holly Marie Combs.  So I will watch it till it is finished.

Now “V” starts tonight and as I posted on Facebook I am so excited I am singing “La Cucaracha!”  I know what does the Cockroach song have to do with V?  The same as I can learn Cantonese from my GPS!  LOL!!!  It’s just me….  Anyway have a listen it’s a fun little song! 

So back to “V” we get to see what happens to the captured and witness Anna\’s vengeance!  Ohhh can’t wait…  May be a Miss Vickie’s and PEPSI night for TV.  Guess I will give James the iPhone again!

So American Idol is coming back on January 19th and America’s Next Top Model on February 23rd…  I think they are both in about season 192…  Will you be watching…  I am not sure I will.

Then Kitchen Nightmares comes back on January 21st.  YOU KNOW I WILL BE WATCHING.  Loves me some Gordon.  Did any of you catch the Food network marathon over the holidays of Private Chefs of Beverly Hills?  I was a little addicted but now I cannot find it.  What happened to it….?  Anyone know!?  Drop a comment and tell me if you hear anything about it. 

Well you all know that my new obsession is the Kardashians…  Well the new Kourtney and Kim Take New York starts on January 23rd….  I can’t wait.  I have just really decided that I love this family and their dynamic and the fact that they fight hard but they truly love harder.  I wanna be an honourary Kardash! 

So now some new shows….  The Chicago Code, with Jennifer Beals…  Gonna give it a try.  Here’s what IMDB says about it “Detective Jarek Wysocki, one of Chicago’s toughest cops, struggles to clean up the town’s violence and corruption.”  We’ll see.

OMG!  OMG!  OMG!!!  CRIMINAL MINDS SUSPECT BEHAVIOUR I am soooo excited can you tell, it is to debut on February 16th following my one and only fave…..  Criminal Minds the original the one with Hotch!  Ahhh!  My life will be complete. 

Then the Celebrity Apprentice and Dancing with the Stars are coming back in February too, for their 192nd season….  As with AI and ANTM I might just give them a pass.

That seems to be all for the new stuff, now…..  When do my Vamps come back!  God DAMN it!  I have waited long enough…  And my Grey Docs….

OH!  And Bethenny Getting Married is starting and then the Housewives of Atlanta Season 3 and well the Housewives of Beverly Hills, and God knows I have to watch Gail V-O’s Princess…

Dear God!  I need help!

Ahhhhh!  Life will be back to normal!

Second Week of September TV season review.

So…  So far I have watched, America’s Next Top Model, Hell Cats, Vampire Diaries, Tori and Dean, The Real Housewives of DC, NJ and NYC.  So here goes.

Along with Kate Plus 8 and Quints by Surprise, Ice Road Truckers and Pawn Stars, Some new shows have started like Hell Cats.  Originally a CW Network Original, but somehow we have it playing on A-Channel and Much Music.  Rather liked it.  Wasn’t sure at first, but I have to admit I am fond of Ashley Tisdale!  I have been ever since I saw Picture This!  So I gave it a chance and well I actually liked it.  Think it will be a watcher for me.  There is just enough drama and teenaged softness about it that it is one of those that you can watch and forget your troubles.  Give it a chance!  It gets a 4.5 outta 5 from me! 

Well then ANTM, Tyra needs to therapy but I always watch the beginning and then taper off towards the end.  It’s cycle 16 and how many times can you watch the same thing…….?  Really!  However I keep tuning in… 

I cannot tell you how happy I was about the following shows.  Vampire Diaries.  Oh how I have missed you my friend.  I have waited with anticipation beads of sweat on my heaving chest.  Ohhh sorry!  I was getting a little carried away.  I am so happy this is back, it was one of the shows that started last fall that I truly enjoyed and never missed.  Damon is so sultry and brooding and so broken that you just want to hold him but you know that wellllll…..  He is just a trap, he will bite you as fast look at you but still he has that lure, that, I need you so badly look that you can’t….  What I am supposed to be writing about the show….  Ha!  Well the addition of Katherine.  The changing of (or is he changed) Jeremy….  Ohhhh!  Let see what happens.  And what the heck is up with the Lockwoods?  Tyler?  Vampire?  Wolf?  Something else?  Hmmm!  Gonna be a good season!

So Saturday was the best day of my life!  Tori and Dean.  I love them.  It is so nice to see that Stars are actually real people!  Liam and Stella are growing up and T and D are trying to make their marriage work.  Wow it does happen in Hollywood.

Then After that was The Real Housewives of DC.  Not too sure about this right now.  Like Cat a lot!  Like Mary too (is it me or does she look just like Natasha Richardson?)  Lynda is just a big BEOTCH and Staci is too self-righteous for me.  As for Michaele she is something else.  This show doesn’t seem to have the spunk that the OC, NJ, NYC, Atlanta ladies do but it is the first episode so lets see. 

So then came the Jersey Girls, I love them I think they are my fave after the OC.  Teresa is the best.  However I love Dina.  I have been watching all the Tweets over the last few months and I pretty much know what is going to happen yet we have just seen the first episode of the second season here in Canada and well I can’t wait for the rest of the season.

Then TRHoNYC.  Let me start by saying Jill is a horrible harpie!  She used to be my fave but man is she ever happy?  “If I was having a boating day I would have a gift for everyone!”  “If I was her friend she should have taken me on the Today Show with her.”  Last year she couldn’t stand Kelly this year she Luanne and Kelly are best buds.  Ramona is distancing herself I don’t blame her the way that Luanne was after her for something Mario said!  Really!?  Get a life!  It ain’t the worst and it ain’t gonna be the last!  Sorry Countess, but give it up now!  Alex I have to say after following her on Twitter I have gotten to like her and Simon much much more!  Bethenny “You go girl!”  Really, love, baby, business.  Anyone who is negative is just jealous of you! 

So, this week is Parenthood!  EXCITED.  Life UnXpected, Survivor, Outlaw and The Apprentice.  Okinowa!  (I have no idea what that means but it makes me laugh) I have some much to watch and so little time. 

Anyone ever watch The Haunted on Animal Planet.  It is starting over again this week and it is pretty enthralling!  Well I love it! 

Annnnnd on Thursday we are going to see Roger Waters at the ACC and I am taking the day off!  YEAHAW!!!!  He is doing The Wall this time, we saw him three years ago when he did Darkside of the Moon!  It was phenomenal!
