I chose not to use this picture as the pic of the day, yet I am choosing to write about how it makes me feel. When I saw this picture, I was so moved by it, it actually made my heart ache!
The love, bond, need, will and support each of these beings needs and gets from the other is amazing!
It truly hurts me to know that these two have to live on the street. It hurts me to know that they are both disposable to the rest of humanity. It hurts me to know that people walk past them without noticing them. I kills me to know that human beings are horrible to them.
However it gives me hope that at the worst time of this human beings life he still chooses to spend it with this little dog. It also helps me to realize that dogs no matter what are still the most loyal being on this little planet of ours.
The way this person is holding this dog and the way the dog has given over and allowed itself to be curled into a little ball of affection is heartwarming.
I hope this picture touches you in a way that will make you realize that those kids, men, woman, people who are unclean, people who have obvious mental health worries, are still human beings. If you don’t want to help them, don’t pretend they are not there, don’t ignore their good morning. Don’t be horrible to them. They don’t need or deserve it. Keep in mind it is only by the grace of luck that you sleep in your home, in your bed, with a heater, and food galore! What if it was you…? Or your family?
